Welder (First Shift) (NC, Arden)

JOB PURPOSE:
The Welder will use hand welding and flame cutting equipment to weld together metal components and parts while following specified layouts or blueprints.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
? Receives Shop Packets, work orders, specifications, prints, and/or sketches from Supervisor in order to set up and operate specified machines to get job done working with selected materials
? Welds metal parts or components together using Stick, Mig or Tig equipment
? Guides electrodes or torch along weld line at specified speed and angle to weld, melt, cut or trim metal
? Reviews layouts, blueprints or diagrams in preparation for welding or cutting metal
? Welds in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions
? Makes necessary adjustments during operation where changes in work and set-up are necessary to achieve requisite dimensions and/or tolerances
? Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded
? Starts and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements
? Adheres to all established department and company standard operating procedures
? Performing other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
? Associates Degree or Applicable Certification in Welding
? 3+ years? experience in Manufacturing Environment
? Proficient in Blue Print Reading
? Proven Leadership skills
? Ability to understand and carry out Safety Policies
? Must have tools required to Weld
